    • Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
    • All components must be installed according to Backwoods Buildings’ specifications and/or engineered drawings.
    • Structures must not be modified in a way that compromises integrity (e.g., unapproved cutting, drilling, layout modification or load changes).
    • Buildings must be designed and erected to local code requirements and intended load ratings per site specific engineered plans purchased by the customer.
    • Proper maintenance is required, including:
      • Keeping drainage clear.
      • Preventing standing water or soil buildup around posts.
      • Addressing damage caused by external events promptly.
  3. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not apply to:
    • Damage caused by acts of God (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, etc.) or other weather events exceeding the engineered design loads.
    • Improper installation, misuse, neglect, or failure to maintain.
    • Cosmetic changes such as minor surface rust, chalking, or fading within industry tolerance.
    • Natural occurring characteristics of wood including raised grain, splitting, checking, twisting, warping, shrinkage, swelling, or any other physical properties are not covered under these warranties.
    • Normal wear and tear.
    • Building components fail or obtain mechanical defects caused by improper handling, storage, installation or wood-destroying insects.
    • Labor, transportation, or removal costs for defective components (except as covered under workmanship warranty).

    3. Backwoods Buildings reserves the right to inspect the product or request return of the defective item.
    4. At our sole discretion, defective parts will be repaired, replaced, or substituted with comparable materials. If the exact product is unavailable, we may issue a prorated credit.

    • The exclusive remedy under this warranty is repair, replacement, or credit of defective components as determined by Backwoods Buildings.
    • Backwoods Buildings shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of profits, or property damage.
    • Total liability shall never exceed the original purchase price of the defective component.
  6. Governing Law
This Limited Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute must first be submitted in writing to Backwoods Buildings for resolution. If unresolved, claims will be handled through binding arbitration or litigation within the jurisdiction of Florida courts.
  7. Definition of “Lifetime”
“Lifetime” means the useful life of the covered component while owned and used by the original purchaser under normal conditions, provided all conditions of this warranty are met. It does not imply coverage for natural disasters, misuse, or events beyond intended design.
  8. DIY Kits – Inspection & Claims
Customers purchasing DIY kits through online order, telephone order, or in-person transactions are responsible for inspecting all materials at the time of pickup from our facility or immediately upon delivery from shipping carriers.
    • Any missing, damaged, or visibly defective materials must be reported to Backwoods Buildings & Truss, LLC before leaving the pickup location or at the time of delivery receipt.
    • If delivery is made via third-party carrier, all shipments must be inspected in the presence of the driver, and any damage or shortages must be clearly noted on the bill of lading or delivery receipt before signing.
    • Backwoods Buildings must be notified immediately of such issues, and supporting photos and documentation may be required.
    • Failure to inspect and report issues at the time of pickup or delivery will void all related claims. Once materials leave our custody without exception noted, responsibility for missing or damaged items transfers to the customer.
